FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN GETTING A SAVINGS ACCOUNT
     
 

Consider your needs. Do you need an account to conduct basic banking transactions or an account with more benefits. The more flexible and benefits the account gives, the more costly is the account.
   
Find out the initial amount to open an account and whether there is any minimum amount required to be kept in the account after the account is opened.
   
Compare interest rates offered and how interest is computed (i.e daily or monthly basis) and how often will interest be paid to you.
   
Find out the charges for application or replacement of ATM card and whether there are restrictions on the frequency you may use the card.
